I would like to begin by expressing my profound gratitude for selecting me as a recipient of the USS Arleigh Burke Trust Scholarship award. Your support is greatly appreciated.

I am an upcoming sophomore at the University of Florida, majoring in Psychology with an emphasis on Behavior Analysis. After undergrad I plan to get a Masters in Social Work to become a licensed clinical social worker. My father has always said that my number one job is to be an excellent student; this scholarship will allow me to execute that job with greater ease as it will relieve some of the financial burden that comes with pursuing higher education.

Being a part of the military community led me to my passion for psychology; for it taught me the art of appreciating and approaching people wherever I ended up. I am also aware of the hardships that arise for the individuals and families who are dedicating their lives to serving our country. That is why I want to utilize my skills and abilities to give back to the community as a future social worker for the VA.
