“I’m officially over halfway through my first year at the University of Virginia. I started my second semester courses on the first of February, and I’m enjoying them immensely. I’m thankful I’ve been able to master this new normal of online school, but I’m excited to relocate to Charlottesville for my second year. I’ve taken both my first and second writing requirements, introductory Biology and Calculus, as well as some interesting electives like Medical Anthropology and Introduction to the Galaxy and Stars. One benefit of online school is I’ve been able to virtually attend some lectures with fantastic guest speakers I wouldn’t have been able to attend otherwise. While I miss the collaborative environment of in person classes, I’ve luckily still been able to connect with other first year students in the College of Arts and Sciences.
