I am incredibly grateful for your contribution to my education. Over the past few years, I have worked multiple jobs to cover educational expenses, but I have not been able to put as much time and effort into my research. I was happy to get involved in research this past year, but I soon realized it did not pay as much as my part-time job, and I had to juggle both. Support like this allows me to prioritize my research and other educational experiences over working and contemplating how to pay for my education. I appreciate your support for the military community and the dependents of active-duty or retired service members. There is a long history of military service in my family, and I am very proud of it. In many ways, it has disadvantaged me, but in many more, it has given me opportunities I wouldn’t have had without this community. This scholarship is another one of those opportunities. I recognize the sacrifice behind the scholarship and appreciate the support it provides not just to me but to all in the military community.
