31st RADM James G. Prout III Memorial Golf Tournament

Anchor Scholarship Foundation is pleased to be teaming up again with Surface Navy Association – San Diego Chapter to host the upcoming 31st Annual RADM James G. Prout III Golf Tournament. This tournament helps fund the annual Prout Memorial Scholarship and several other Anchor scholarships.

RADM Prout was unfortunately involved in a F/A 18 Hornet mishap on May 17, 1995 where he and the pilot of the aircraft tragically lost their lives. His wife Kathy and the Surface Navy Association, San Diego chapter came together to honor his legacy by establishing a scholarship in his name that is administered and awarded annually by Anchor Scholarship Foundation. The Prout Scholarship is awarded to a deserving Surface Navy dependent from San Diego County. The 2023 Prout Scholarship winner, John Rader, is attending the University of Kansas, in hopes of going into the cybersecurity field to better protect people’s personal data.

Anchor Scholarship Foundation has a long history of partnering with companies to make college more affordable for Surface Navy families. Through event sponsorships and scholarship donations, this partnership has resulted in over $1,500,000 in awarded scholarships for over 1,300 impressive Surface Navy dependents through the years.
