“My vocabulary can not express the level of gratitude that I have for this scholarship award. Having a parent in the Surface Warefare community has been difficult for myself and family. I have always been supportive and accepting as I was proud to have a parent that was selflessly serving our country. With the help of my parents and siblings I was able to raise swine and show them in the county fair to auction them off for a rewarding amount. After I purchased the swine I would use for the next year, my funds went straight into the 529 account. We all know that the price of school continues to rise and the 529 will not fully cover all four years of schooling. This scholarship will help tremendously with that, and I am forever grateful.
